I run a brand promotion business that offers a wide range of services from advertising, selling and direct marketing to sales promotion and public relations services. Based on the demands of the business, I have been able to work with different professionals over the years. However, the competitive nature of the business has created a need to engage in the consistent recruitment of highly talented professionals.
For most Nigerian business units, particularly start-ups it is quite difficult to control operations. We experience such challenges as organizing teams, sorting out services, and getting the right professionals to offer the right services among other issues. Even with the right budget, highly talented professionals are scarce, making recruitment a high budget problem.
The problem has contributed to the failure of most business units in the country. National data showed that about 80% of start-ups fold up after three years of operation. Within the country, most of the well-established states for business transactions had an average of 49.52 on ease of doing business. This showed that business owners experienced difficulty in their daily activities.
