TERAWORK is helping solve humongous unemployment problem in Nigeria

Olutola Majolagbe, our Head of Corporate Communications was interviewed on the BusinessDay Newspaper, as she discussed the freelancing economy in Nigeria and the role TERAWORK is playing to smoothen the journey for freelancers.

She was asked some interesting questions on how the name TERAWORK came about. She also discussed how the idea of freelancing is gradually developing in people’s minds and reflecting in their daily activities. She illustrated this with the concept of the Gig economy, which is becoming more popular by the day – a situation or environment in which companies that have temporary positions contract independent workers or freelancers on short-term engagements; hours, days, weeks or a few months.

She was asked about how TERAWORK aims to grow the freelancing economy in Nigeria, the plans, preparations and efforts put in place to ensure an unaltered growth of the freelancing economy.

During the interview, she addressed some underlying doubts and reservations people have towards the e-commerce, most especially being an online platform for services, as we could say Nigerians are already buying into the idea of online products purchase. She also talked about the efforts TERAWORK is making to ensure the security of transactions and safety of our users’ information on the platform.

When asked about the measures taken to ensure a high quality of service delivery from the freelancers on the platform, she answered by saying that TERAWORK freelancers are properly vetted and scrutinized before their work profiles become available to the public.

According to her, TERAWORK aims to become the market leader in the freelance space in Africa, and a huge amount of effort is being made towards achieving this.

She concluded the session by announcing that the mobile application will launch very soon, however, users can keep making use of the highly responsive web application for now.
